I’ve always found that traveling with someone else makes the experience less overwhelming. Being in a new place, surrounded by strangers and unfamiliar customs, can send my anxiety spiraling. Having a familiar face by my side makes everything less scary to me. Knowing that I’m not alone in a new place helps me relax so that I can focus on my journey. There’s comfort in having someone who understands me and isn’t appalled by my little survival quirks. That same person also acts as my savior by reminding me that most challenges can be overcome.
When I travel, there’s also something special about sharing my experiences with someone else. Sharing the journeys always makes them more meaningful. As I look back on my trips, it’s not just the places and people I remember; I also look back at the people who made the memories I cherish. The special moments I share with my travel buddy are usually the best parts of my journeys.
